Thanks to every one who contributed time, energy and sincere thoughtfulness to our conversations with our CPR coach Cameron Trimble on December 4&5th. Friday afternoon Cameron met with Linden Hills community members and ministry partners from NAZ, TakeAction and TRUST. Friday evening 10 members of The Cabinet engaged in conversation with Cameron over a wonderful potluck dinner. Saturday morning we had an all church meeting during which Cameron and Lawrence Richardson shared their insights in to the challenges and opportunities before us as a congregation moving forward. Over 40 members attended, sharing their deas and questions. In the afternoon Cameron had 10 half hour interviews with a cross section of our membership. By the end of her visit alf Cameron was able to engage over 50 people "face to face." This excellent turnout of the congregation, community and partners gave us a strong start to our process of discovery and discernment.
Early in the new year we will receive a report from Cameron that offers insights and some suggestions of areas we could start to focus. From her recommendations a report will be created and further conversations be held will all members. The goal is to come up with a shared ministry plan for the future.
I, along with Cameron, and Cabinet wish to thank Candice and Leo Bijnagte, Pete Bernard and Connie Martin for hosting the Friday dinner and Saturday coffee hour. Thanks also to Jan Howard and Sarah Zach for providing childcare on Saturday morning.
